Mizzou women’s basketball upsets No. 21 West Virginia on the road
The Mizzou women’s basketball team went on the road and earned a statement win over (21) West Virginia, 68-51.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 6-2 on the season and earned their first ranked win of the year.
Amber Smith had a career-high 28 points for the Tigers as well as 13 rebounds and three blocks.
Redshirt freshman Haley Troup also set a career high in points with 14 to go along with six rebounds. Jordan Chavis also added 11 points for the Tigers.
Mizzou defense controlled much of the game as the Mountaineers shot 27.9 percent from the field (17-for-61) and 27.8 percent from three (5-for-18).
Next up, Mizzou faces UMKC at Mizzou Arena Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
