Tracking a hot end to the week with increasing humidity

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows near 70.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and a bit warmer with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Heat index in the upper 90s to around 100.

EXTENDED: Mid-Missouri is dry for the next few days as high pressure begins to build back in tomorrow, bringing us back into the lower 90s. Heat index values will reach the upper 90s to around 100 by late afternoon. It's a hot and sunny start to the weekend with highs in the low to mid-90s and heat indices between 101-103. I'm tracking a weak cold front that will move in on Sunday to the north and push south by Tuesday, bringing us a chance for showers and storms on Monday that will cool us down into the upper 80s briefly Monday through Tuesday. Sunshine returns Tuesday into Wednesday, but the upper level pattern is relentless with the jet stream to our north yet again for the rest of next week. That will send temperatures back into the mid-upper 90s with little rain to speak of into next weekend. Current trends will be for this brutal heat to hang around until about the 18th or 19th before we see a shift.
