Columbia man accused of abusing 2 month old
A Columbia man was charged on Monday after officers had reason to believe he abused his 2-month-old daughter.
According to court documents, Jonathan Holder called Boone County Joint Communications in July, stating his daughter was “breathing funny.” After the child was examined at University Hospital, it was determined that she was a victim of non-accidental trauma.
During testing, doctors found brain bleeds at different stages of healing, some of which they said happened hours before the child was brought to the hospital, according to the court documents.
One doctor called the injuries “severe child physical abuse and abusive head trauma.”
Holder has not yet been taken into custody.
