Another charge filed in string of Callaway County storage thefts

Another person was charged Monday after a string of reported storage unit thefts in Callaway County.

Caroline M. Elliott allegedly broke into a storage unit at Mom and Pop’s Storage in July and stole a washer and dryer set valued at $300.

When police made contact with Elliott in Octover, she admitted that she and her boyfriend, Lance Kemp, had been supporting their meth habit by breaking into storage units in Callaway County and taking items to sell for more than a year, according to court documents.

Elliott is charged with second-degree burglary and stealing.

Callaway County authorities have made at least five arrests in the string of storage unit thefts throughout the county.
