Former educator sentenced in two counties

A former mid-Missouri educator was sentenced to five years of supervised probation in Cooper County on Nov. 20 after she pleaded guilty to charged of sexual contact with a student.

Clairyssa Lorenz was also sentenced to five years of probation in Moniteau County when she pleaded guilty to the same charges,

The victim, who was a 16-year-old male, told police he had sex with Clairyssa Lorenz on multiple occasions beginning in late June or early July of 2017. Lorenz was arrested in March.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim and Lorenz had sex in both Cooper and Moniteau County.

Lorenz was an elementary counselor in the Cole R-1 School District and an assistant high school softball coach in the California, Missouri, school district.
