Significant impacts have retreated out of Mid-Missouri… Some slick spots possible overnight

****A Blizzard Warning and Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the counties shaded in the map below until 6 AM Monday… Potentially ending earlier***

A majority of the blizzard warnings have dropped across Mid-Missouri, winter weather advisories have replaced them. The reason for this is because we could still see some blowing snow as a few snow showers are left over. Temperatures drop well below freezing this evening, this will help assist any refreezing on side streets, along with bridges and overpasses.

THE BIG PICTURE:

Synoptic scale view showing the worst of the storm has passed. Some left over snow showers continue to stream through the area, but the bulk of the winds and heavy snow has translated into northern Illinois.

CLOSER TO HOME:

Some light snow showers are possible overnight… with winds it could pose some lowering visibilities, but extreme conditions are OVER. Much colder air takes over into early tomorrow morning… wind gusts will keep wind chills in the low teens tomorrow morning.

TIMELINE:

As you can see, temperatures will drop off significantly overnight. This will be a concern for the development of slick roadways through the early morning hours.

IMPACTS:

Some impacts are still possible with blowing snow overnight… and temperatures below freezing.
