Troopers stop 7 cars in 39 minutes on busy travel day
Thanksgiving eve marks one of the busiest travel days of the year, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol is working hard to keep our roads safe.
Troopers responded to at least four different crashes in Mid-Missouri Wednesday. A four-car crash on I-70 backed up traffic for miles and a crash in Moniteau Co. injured five people.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop F wrote on Twitter Wednesday that troopers stopped seven cars in just 39 minutes. They said the average speed was 18 mph over the limit.

Troopers within Troop F and throughout the state are participating in Operation C.A.R.E. (Crash Awareness & Reduction Effort) over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Special enforcement operations are also underway Wednesday through Sunday in Troop F. Troopers are targeting all traffic violations and keeping a close eye on excessive speed, careless driving and intoxicated driving. Troopers will also be available to help drivers in need of assistance.
