MU extends women’s basketball coach Robin Pingeton through 2024-25 season

Mizzou athletics announced a four-year contract extension for women’s basketball coach Robin Pingeton on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The extension runs through the 2024-25 season. All other details of the contract are not released at this time.

“I am extremely grateful, and appreciative to the University of Missouri for their faith and commitment to myself and my staff,” said Pingeton. “It is an honor to be associated with a great university and community. My family and I are so thankful to have the opportunity to work with great leaders, administrators and student-athletes. I am looking forward to continuing to grow this program and pursuing excellence both on and off the court.”

Pingeton is in her 9th season coaching the Tigers. During that stretch, she has a record of 150-109 (.579) and stands at 485-266 (.646) in her coaching career overall. Pingeton has led the Tigers to three consecutive NCAA tournaments for the first time since 1984-86. Her winning percentage at Mizzou is the second best in program history, and she led the Tigers to six consecutive winning seasons.

Mizzou Athletic Director Jim Sterk said, “I’ve only worked with her two and a half years, but in that short time, she’s really demonstrated to me great leadership, ability to lead a program and continuing to push forward. She’s not satisfied. She wants to continue to move forward with the entire program. Not only competitiveness, but engagement in the community, so I think she’s a great leader of our program. It was appropriate to reward her with an extended contract.”
