Two men arrested for child pornography
The Boone County Sheriff’s Cyber Crimes Task Force arrested two men this week for possessing child pornography.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Evan White, 24, of Moberly and Sheldon Higginbotham, 49, of Russellville, had child pornography at their homes.
White was arrested Wednesday after investigators were tipped off by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tipster said someone was using online cloud storage to collect and trade child pornography.
A searchof White’s home was conducted Wednesday, and multiple pieces of evidence were found. White was arrested for possessing and promoting child pornography. He’s being held on a $40,000 bond.
Higginbothom was arrested on Tuesday on two counts of possessing child pornography.
Investigators found photos of children between the ages of 5 and 12 during a search of Higginbothom’s home in September. He was not present at the time of the search, and law enforcement officers were unable to locate him for some time.
He’s being held without bond.
