Sunshine returns this afternoon and stays through Thanksgiving

TUESDAY: Clouds will clear out and we’ll see sunshine, but it will stay chilly. High temperatures will stay in the upper 30s to low 40s with winds shifting to the west to southwest up to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Temperatures drop back below freezing by Wednesday morning under clear skies. Winds out of the south will create for wind chills to drop into the mid 20s by morning.

EXTENDED: Thankfully the cold weather will only be here briefly. The same wind that creates a wind chill tomorrow morning will actually warm us up nicely through the afternoon as temperatures rise back into the mid 50s. It’ll be the first time this month that Mid-Missouri has seen unseasonably warm temperatures, which couldn’t come at a better time on Thanksgiving as we reach the upper 50s with sunshine for the holiday. By Black Friday our next chance of rain returns, moving in from the west by late morning and continuing through the afternoon with high temperatures near 50. Saturday looks mostly dry with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Another storm system, developing to our south will bring a chance of rain Sunday followed by colder air. If this storm system continues to slow down and persists through early Monday morning, we could see snow on the backend of the low. There is still uncertainty on position and timing which we’ll pin down as we go through the week. If you have travel plans for Sunday into Monday, keep an eye on the forecast.
