Columbia Regional Airport prepares for President Trump

President Donald Trump will make a stop in Columbia, Missouri, on Thursday.

According to the rally website, doors will open at 3:30 p.m., and the president will arrive at 6:30 p.m. The Make America Great Again rally will be held in Hangar 350 at Columbia Regional Airport.

City spokesperson Steve Sapp said the Columbia Police Department, Airport Security and other law enforcement agencies will assist in security under the direction of the Secret Service.

Airport staff will monitor parking for airport customers, and no flights will be impacted by the rally, said Airport Manager Mike Parks.

The president has visited Missouri several times in support of Republican Senate candidate Josh Hawley.

ABC 17 News crews saw two tents set up in Columbia selling gear in support of President Trump. Owners of the tents said they are selling the campaign gear in preparation for the rally. Lance Rogers, one of the owners, said he’s traveled across the country following the president.

“With Trump, I’ve done at least 20 to 25 states,” he said. “We were swamped today we got some really tremendous action.”

Columbia Jet Center is organizing logistics for the rally and will release more information throughout the week, Parks said.
