Bland Middle School locked down briefly
Bland Middle School was put on lockdown Wednesday as Gasconade County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a juvenile threatening self-harm.
The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that authorities asked the middle school to go on lockdown as a precaution after the call came in and police from nearby Belle were called in to provide security at the school during the investigation. Authorities found a juvenile with a knife on South Taylor Street.
The child was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment, the sheriff’s office said.
