Frost advisory for parts of Mid-Missouri as unseasonably cool weather remains

WEDNESDAY: After a cold start, temperatures will only climb into the upper 50s this afternoon. Thanks to plentiful sunshine and winds out of the northwest it’ll feel pleasant through most of the day. Winds will remain out of the north up to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will drop back into the mid to upper 30s tonight under clear skies. Winds will be light and variable. A frost advisory is in effect for southern parts of Mid-Missouri, where a killing frost/freeze has yet to end the growing season. You’ll want to take the necessary precautions before you head to bed this evening, as patchy frost will be possible through tomorrow morning.

EXTENDED: Abundant sunshine is in the forecast through Thursday with afternoon high temperatures reaching close to 60. It won’t be as cold Thursday night thanks to more cloud cover and a southeast breeze. Lows will stay in the lower 40s with a chance of showers after 2 AM which will continue into Friday morning. The better chance of rain will be south of HWY 50 but areas north could see a few showers. Rainfall amounts will be light with .01″ to .25″, highest south. Rain moves out by early afternoon Friday and we are cool and dry from Friday night Into the weekend with great weather for Mizzou’s Homecoming events! If you’re headed out to Campus Decorations or Sports Zone Football Friday temperatures will be in the 50s through 10 PM thanks to cloud coverage sticking around the area. Overnight lows Friday drop into the 40s creating for a cool start if you’re heading out to the Homecoming Parade at 9 AM Saturday. It will stay cool through Saturday as a northerly breeze keeps our daytime highs near 60, but with a lot of sunshine. Keep up to date with the latest forecast on-air and online with ABC 17 News.
