Waverly man killed after falling out of pickup truck bed

JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Waverly man was killed Thursday morning after he fell out of a pickup truck bed.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the incident on southbound Highway 13 near SE 650 Road around 7:50 a.m.

Troopers said 54-year-old Burnie G. Jordan hit the pavement after he fell out of the back of the truck. Emergency crews flew Jordan to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, where a doctor pronounced him dead just before 9:30 a.m.

Troopers reported no other injuries.
