Chilly mornings ahead with patchy frost possible

THURSDAY: Skies will gradually become mostly sunny and temperatures will stay cool, only reaching the mid 50s as a chilly northwesterly breeze holds steady near 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Skies will remain partly cloudy with a light breeze out of the northwest up to 6 mph. It will be chilly by morning as low temperatures drop into the upper 30s. Some areas of patchy frost is possible in low lying areas.

EXTENDED: More rain is possible as we head into the close of the week. Rain will arrive Friday morning through afternoon as an upper level disturbance from Colorado moves through. This will not only bring light to moderate rain showers Friday, but will also keep temperatures cool. Tomorrow’s highs only rise into the upper 40s. Some lingering showers are possible into Sports Zone Football Friday with temperatures in the 40s through the game. Frost is possible late Friday night as lows drop into the mid to upper 30s as skies clear, giving us a chilly start to the weekend. The remnants of Tropical Storm Sergio from the Pacific will track inland with impacts felt across the Plains and into the Midwest. As of now, the best chance of rain for Saturday night into early Sunday morning is south of I-70 as the system tracks across northern Arkansas. Temperatures will stay cool this weekend with highs only in the mid to upper 50s. There is another chance of rain late Sunday as another upper wave moves in. However, the chance is low due to uncertainty in whether this wave will develop as some forecast models keep us dry Sunday night.
