Federal drug suspect’s bond revoked

A federal judge has revoked bond for the son of a Columbia coffee shop owner under prosecution for alleged drug dealing.

Nader Yanis was charged along with his father, Osama Yanis, with marijuana distribution in February. Nader Yanis had his bond revoked last Wednesday after he sent a Snapchat message to a witness in his case that the witness took as a threat meant to collect on a drug debt, according to the order to revoke his bond.

Columbia police arrested Osama Yanis after watching a delivery at his home and searching the residence. Officer found drugs in Nader Yanis’ car during a traffic stop, federal prosecutors said.

Osama Yanis is the owner of Coffee Zone in downtown Columbia.
