Columbia police arrest man for disturbance with a knife

Columbia police arrested a man Monday night after he allegedly brandished a knife.

According to a news release, the police department received several calls around 5 p.m. regarding a man acting in a threatening manner while holding a knife.

Officers arrived in the area and arrested Travion Ivy, 22, in the backyard of a home in the 1400 block of Risen Star Court, the release said.

Officers also located a discarded knife in the area, police said.
