Tracking lower humidity tomorrow, continued heat

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows in the low to mid-70s.

TOMORROW: Less humid and mostly sunny with highs in the mid-90s.

EXTENDED: A weak cold front moves through tonight, shifting our winds back to the northwest. That will keep humidity and temperatures a touch lower for tomorrow, but highs still reach the low to mid-90s. As upper high pressure begins to move back in our direction, winds shift back south on Thursday, sending us to the upper 90s. By Friday, we'll get near 100 with the heat index approaching 103-105. There's a chance we could see a few storms between Friday and Sunday with a stalled front to our north along the top of the high pressure ridge across northern Missouri, but the most intense heat of the week will be the highlight of the weekend forecast. Highs reach 100-102 with a heat index potentially between 105-108. Next week starts off hot, but the pattern appears a bit more active as winds shift to the northwest. We'll have a better shot at seeing more rain chances by the middle and end of next week with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
