Another round of storms is likely overnight, Chance for storms continues Sunday

TONIGHT: Showers and storms are beginning to stall out over southern portions of Mid-MO, with storm chances continuing for areas south of HWY 50 this evening. North of that line, Mid-MO will stay dry through the later evening hours. As this front begins to slowly lift northward overnight, we’ll tracking more bubbles of moisture that will ride along that boundary, bringing chance of storms closer to the I-70 corridor.

SUNDAY: Spotty showers are possible into Sunday morning, but most of us will stay dry– the better chances for rainfall will arrive in the early afternoon hours as temperatures rise through the mid and upper 70s. Similar to today, storms are not expected to be severe, but a strong wind gust and heavy downpours are possible.

EXTENDED: We’re warm into the first half of the work week, the warmest of the days being Monday, however, with an approaching cold front, we’ll begin our slow climb back to fall. Rain chances increase Tuesday and Wednesday along that front, with temperatures dropping through the day on Wednesday. You might even want to get those heavier jackets out of storage as highs look to remain in the 50s Friday, with overnight lows bottoming out near 40 degrees. Fall is on its way!
