Wet weekend is moving in

SATURDAY: Showers and thunderstorms are pushing off toward the southeast this morning with a cold front. We’ll see locally heavy rain at times, a few rumbles of thunder, and some brief gusty winds with some of these storms throughout the afternoon. Rain chances will increase in southeastern parts of our viewing area this afternoon as this broken line of storms moves into the area. With the slow movement of this front, high temperatures will vary from the 60s in our northwestern counties to near 80 in parts of southeast Mid-Missouri.

TONIGHT: Shower and thunderstorm chances will stick around into the overnight hours as this front stalls in the region. Temperatures will range from the low 60s toward the northwest to near 70 toward I-44. Winds will primarily be out of the northeast between 5-10 mph.

EXTENDED: This stalled frontal system will move back north on Sunday. This will warm temperatures into the 70s to near 80 for more of us with scattered showers and thunderstorms, which will begin to slowly lift north by Sunday night. We hold onto a slight storm chance Monday with that warming trend continuing as we reach into the middle 80s. This active weather continues Tuesday night as yet another cold front moves in bringing the next chance of stormy weather into Wednesday and cooler temperatures.
