Suspects on the run after drive-by shooting off Scott Blvd.

UPDATE: Boone County Sheriff’s detectives said they were able to get vehicle descriptions from several witnesses who saw what happened Friday afternoon and the investigation continues.

At least two vehicles and two suspects were involved in a drive-by shooting in the area of Pickford Place and Millbrook Drive. The two streets intersect.

Deputies found at least eight shell casings on Pickford and three more on Millbrook. A home and a car parked at that home were both hit by gunfire.

One witness on Millbrook Drive told ABC 17 News she was inside her garage during the shooting. She said she heard a car zooming down Millbrook and gunshots ringing out about the same time. She said she immediately dove to the ground for safety.

The investigation also took deputies and Columbia police to the Rainbow Trout Drive subdivision, where the vehicles had been spotted post-shooting.

During the hunt for the suspects, there were some school busses dropping off students. ABC 17 News crews saw a Columbia police officer escorting at least one bus on its route.

A Columbia Public Schools spokeswoman told ABC 17 News that buses from the elementary school were being held at the school until law enforcement cleared the area.

Both scenes were cleared by about 5:00 p.m. Friday.
