Dry Friday with a soggy Saturday
FRIDAY: A few storms are possible north of I-70 Friday morning, but most of the day will be dry. Much warmer air moves in with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s and winds from the southwest at 6-12 mph. It looks warm and dry for Sports Zone Football Friday with temperatures falling into the upper 70s by 9 PM.
TONIGHT: Ahead of a cold front approaching from the north winds will remain out of the southwest up to 10 mph tonight. This will hold temperatures steady in the low 70s through the night under increasing cloud cover. A line of showers and storms will develop in northwestern Missouri ahead of the front, which will approach the area by morning.
EXTENDED: After 6 AM a line of storms will enter into our northwestern counties, bringing localized heavy rain as well some rumbles of thunder. Rain chances will increase as we head through the day as this boundary drifts to the south and stalls, moving back north late Sunday. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to near 80 Saturday with the warmest temperatures near I-44. Sunday, we’ll reach the upper 70s with periods of showers and storms continuing. Monday has trended drier and will be warm as we climb into the mid 80s for Columbus Day. Storm activity will pick up again into the middle of next week with changeable temperatures as another cold front drops in, cooling us back down by Wednesday.
