Warm air returns with on and off storms through the weekend

TONIGHT: Clusters of storms will move from the south to the north, lifting north of I-70 after midnight. Winds will shift back out of the southwest up to 10 mph. Temperatures drop to 60 with moisture increasing through the night, creating for a muggy start to the day Friday as temperatures slowly rise toward daybreak.

FRIDAY: A few storms are possible north of I-70 Friday morning, but most of the day will be dry. Much warmer air moves in with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s and winds from the southwest at 6-12 mph. It looks warm and dry for Sportszone Football Friday with temperatures falling into the upper 70s by 9 PM.

EXTENDED: A line of showers and storms will develop in northwestern Missouri Friday night with a cold front which will slowly move to the southeast and into Mid-Missouri Saturday morning. Rain chances will increase as we head through the day as this boundary drifts to the south and stalls, moving back north late Sunday. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to near 80 Saturday with the warmest temperatures near I-44. Sunday, we’ll reach the upper 70s with periods of showers and storms continuing. Monday has trended drier and will be warm as we climb into the mid 80s for Columbus Day. Storm activity will pick up again into the middle of next week with changeable temperatures as another cold front drops in, cooling us back down by Wednesday.
