Four-star forward commits to Mizzou hoops

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou men's basketball coach Dennis Gates added a big piece to his class of 2023 on Tuesday afternoon, with the commitment of four-star forward Trent Pierce.

The Oklahoma-native picked MU over offers from Florida, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Illinois, and Minnesota.

In his junior campaign with Tulsa Union, Pierce averaged about 16 points and 11 rebounds per game.

Pierce's commitment is the second in Mizzou's class of 2023. On June 30, Gates and company secured a commitment from three-star point guard Anthony Robinson II. Robinson had been fielding offers from Florida State, Auburn, Virginia Tech, and a couple of other schools.
