St. Louis splits series with Philadelphia in big night for Albert Pujols
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)
The St. Louis Cardinals managed to end the series with Philadelphia in a tie, courtesy of a 6-1 win on Monday night. However, the win was almost overshadowed by yet another milestone for Albert Pujols.
The St. Louis legend passed another legend, Stan Musial, on the career list for extra-base hits. He now sits just behind Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds.
The Cardinal bats came to life after a rough couple of weeks in Monday night's win. Corey Dickerson and Lars Nootbar both homered in the victory, as the birds finished with nine hits on the night.
Miles Mikolas had an efficient outing on the hill for St. Louis. He finished the game with five strikeouts and just one run allowed over about seven innings of work.
With the win, the Phillies and the Cardinals are tied for the second Wild Card spot in the National League.
