UPDATE: Victims identified in head-on crash on Highway 87
UPDATE – 9/19 7:00 A.M.: The Missouri State Highway Patrol released the details of a deadly crash on Highway 87, including identities of the two people killed and the two injured.
Troop F said the crash happened when a 2004 Dodge Neon driven by 18-year-old Hannah Norris of Glasgow crossed the center line about one mile north of Route K on Highway 87.
The vehicle was carrying Shane Ashpaugh,17, of Boonville and Autumn Norris, 15, of Glasgow.
The car crashed head-on with a 2015 Ford Fusion driven by 75-year-old Kenneth Huddle of Keytesville.
Huddle and Ashpaugh were pronounced dead at the scene, while Hannah and Autumn Norris were transported to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
According to the MSHP crash report, none of the drivers or passengers was wearing a safety device.
As of this article’s publication, Troop F has seen 8 fatalities for the month of September and 55 so far in 2018.
UPDATE: Authorities say two people are dead and two people went to the hospital after a head-on crash. The road reopened just before 7 p.m.
ORIGINAL: Part of Highway 87 is closed while crews work at the scene of a vehicle crash.
The road was blocked at Highway K. Few details were available at about 6 p.m., but ABC 17 News confirmed the crash happened a couple of miles south of Glasgow. It wasn’t clear how many vehicles were involved or how many people were hurt.
