UPDATE: Five charged with using U-Haul trucks to steal clothes

UPDATE 5:30 P.M.: Callaway County prosecutors charged each of the five suspects with felony stealing. Hearing information in their cases was not available in online court records.

ORIGINAL: The Fulton Police Department arrested five people Monday afternoon after they allegedly used U-Haul trucks to steal a large quantity of clothes.

Officers responded to Hibbett Sports around 4:30 p.m. and discovered several people ran out of the store with clothing and fled the business in two U-Haul trucks.

Police, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Callaway County Sheriff’s Department, stopped the trucks on Highway 54 and County Road 114.

Police said officers found $1,872.77 worth of stolen clothes in the vehicles.

Police arrested Jamal Jackson, Talicia Fletcher, Natasha Leonard, TaeJour Hill and Javion Ellis for felony stealing.

Each person was taken to the Callaway County Jail with a bond of $4,500.
