Summer takes full control through Tuesday, some relief arrives Wednesday
TONIGHT: The story will be the warm & muggy conditions overnight, with temperatures only falling into the middle 70s. It will feel more like early July waking up Sunday morning.
SUNDAY: Another day of big-time heat and humidity over mid-Missouri. We’ll continue to see breezy conditions as well, with a tightening pressure gradient over the area, winds will be sustained out the southwest around 10-15 mph, gusting to 25 at times. We’ll see a little bit more in the way of cloud cover around as well. Temperatures top out in the mid-90s with heat index values approaching 103* by 3pm.
EXTENDED: The heat holds strong through Tuesday morning, but we’re tracking an approaching cold front, arriving late Tuesday which has the potential to bring us rainfall and a push at some cooler temperatures by Wednesday. Unfortunately if you’re not a fan of the hot weather, much of the long range trends are signaling towards another warm-up by next week, leaving our temperatures above averages through the 1st week of September.
