One charged in Moberly Breaktime robbery

One person was charged Wednesday in connection to an armed robbery at the Highway 24 Breaktime in Moberly on Aug. 17.

Anquan Jabrieug Eugene Glover, 19, of Kansas City was charged with first degree robbery in Randolph County.

According to surveillance video obtained by police, the suspect, who was later identified as Glover, walked into the gas station holding what was thought to be a black handgun and had a white T-shirt wrapped around his head in face. The footage showed he hit the store clerk in the back of the head, then held the gun to the clerk and told him to get in the cash drawer. There were also two other people in the store at the time.

Glover then allegedly opened the drawer and took all of the paper money out and told the clerk to get him two packs of Newport cigarettes. Before Glover left the store, he said “If anyone gets up, I’ll kill you,” according to the footage police obtained. Glover also stated his gun was actually a “BB gun,” then discharged it several times.

Glover was already in custody at the Boone County Jail on unrelated charges from a different incident when the Moberly Police Department identified him as the robbery suspect.

In that instance, Glover had allegedly stolen a grey Ford Focus, and when Columbia police tried to pull him over, he led them on a pursuit and drove through a construction zone. He then allegedly jumped out of the car and went into an apartment building when police were able to obtain him.

Businesses and citizens of Moberly assisted the police Department in identifying Glover in the Breaktime robbery case. His bond was set at $100,000, cash only.
