Fall temperatures hang around into Thursday

WEDNESDAY: Cloudy skies are sticking around this afternoon, keeping temperatures on the cool side. With the lingering cloud cover through the day, highs will likely only stay in the upper 70s. It will feel like another fall day, with winds out of the north up to 5 mph keeping humidity virtually nonexistent.

TONIGHT: It will be a cool night as temperatures drop into the upper 50s by morning under mostly clear skies. Winds will gradually shift out of the southeast under 7 mph.

EXTENDED: Heading into Thursday, a batch of showers and t-storms in western Missouri in the morning will slowly track to the east and gradually fall apart. Areas west of HWY 63 have the best chance of seeing rain during the day Thursday with a lower chance east. Clouds will keep us in the upper 70s to near 80 Thursday. Scattered showers and t-storms will move in Thursday night as a warm front lifts to the northeast. Most of these will move out early Friday with drier weather in the early afternoon with high temperatures climbing into the low to mid 80s. Skies will begin to clear to the west as storms move eastward, which could allow for some stronger storms later in the day. Scattered storms may redevelop Friday late in the afternoon and evening, some of which could be on the strong to severe side if the atmosphere recovers. For Sportszone Football Friday most areas will be dry, but spot storms can’t be ruled out through the game. Temperatures will be in the lower 80s at kickoff, cooling into the 70s by the 4th quarter. Much warmer air moves in behind the front and the weekend looks hot with highs near 90 Saturday and mid 90s Sunday under partly cloudy skies. It will also be humid this weekend and heat indices will reach as high as 100 degrees. The heat continues through the middle of next week.
