Early morning fire in Holts Summit leaves extensive damage to home

An early morning fire in Holts Summit left one family with damage to their home and vehicles Wednesday.

The Holts Summit Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure Wednesday morning in the 300 block of Ascension Point.

When they arrived, they found the single-family home engulfed in flames. Public Information Officer Scott Pasley said the damage to the home was extensive.

According to Pasley, no one was injured as the residents inside were able to evacuate in time, but three pets remain unaccounted for. Pasley also said three vehicles in the home’s driveway were damaged due to the intense heat of the fire.

Units from South Callaway Fire, New Bloomfield Fire and Callaway EMS responded to assist.
