Mizzou chancellor speaks to public on year anniversary

Mizzou chancellor Alexander Cartwright will address highlights and future actions at the university as he marks his one-year anniversary Wednesday.

As Mizzou students head back to classes this week, early numbers from the school show this year’s freshman class is about 540 students larger than last year, the largest relative, single-year jump in enrollment in a decade.

A University spokesman says more than 90 percent of dorms are filled and more than 1,000 students transferred to the school.

The university said several new scholarships make the school more attractive to students.

ABC 17 News will have a crew at the announcement.
