Tracking weekend scattered showers and storms before a hot and humid week ahead

Tonight: Scattered showers and storms will continue to move through Central Missouri thanks to a stalled cold front hovering over the I-70 corridor. The main threat will be lightning with some heavy isolated downpours as the overnight lows bottom out around 70 degrees.

Tomorrow: Scattered showers and storms will continue to form along the stalled front as it pushes slightly southward tomorrow towards I-44. There will be dry time throughout the day in between showers. The afternoon high heats up to 90 degrees as the humidity surges back into Central Missouri.

Extended: Sunday night will see a few isolated showers and storms but looks to become drier allowing for the opportunity for most areas to enjoy fireworks. The cold front will reverse its tracks pulling back to the north by Monday bringing scattered showers and storms to northern Missouri before fading out by the early afternoon hours. Highs increase into the upper 90's as the heat index climb near 105 degrees leading to dangerous conditions. A Weather Alert Day has been issued from Monday until Wednesday afternoon as Tuesday and Wednesday look to see the heat index surpass 105 degrees. Skies begin to clear Monday afternoon bringing Sunny conditions through Tuesday before afternoon scattered showers and storms form Wednesday into the weekend.
