Man arrested after Columbia woman pepper-sprayed, robbed

Columbia officials said a man was arrested shortly after police responded to reports of a robbery early Monday morning.

Officials said police responded to the area of Business Loop 70 and Grand Avenue around 2 a.m.

Officers found that a woman was pepper-sprayed and her purse was taken.

Officials said a man was arrested shortly after they made contact with the victim, and found him in possession of the victim’s stolen property.

Officials did not release the name of the man.
