Columbia police to spend more time with downtown crowds Saturday night
Columbia Police Department Lt. Matt Stephens said CPD patrolled the downtown area Friday night in an effort to stop crimes from taking place.
Stephens said they have plans to socialize and spend more time with downtown crowds Saturday night as well.
“We’re gonna do that kind of thing. If something cracks off, we’ll be real close and handy,” Stephens said.
Last week Saturday, ABC 17 News reported there were four shootings in three weekends in a row.
Police are hoping there will not be a fourth.
“Our intentions are, we’re gonna go downtown,” Stephens said.
