UPDATE: The Miller County sheriff has confirmed Mckie is in custody.

Sheriff Louie Gregoire said he was located in Jefferson City Saturday afternoon and taken into custody without incident.

Gregoire said information from the public led to Mckie’s arrest.

ORIGINAL STORY: Miller County deputies said they are searching for a man who is possibly armed and dangerous after two people showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds Friday night.

The sheriff said staff at the Lake Regional Hospital notified the Sheriff’s Office after two patients were taken there by a private individual.

Deputies went to the hospital and were able to find out that happened near VFW Road in Miller County.

Witnesses told the deputies that the victims and the suspected shooter, Devin Mckie, 18, of Eldon, got into a physical argument. They said the argument escalated and Mckie shot at the victims several times.

Deputies said Mckie fled the area after the shooting.

Anyone with information about Mckie’s whereabouts are asked to call the Miller County Sheriff’s Office or the tip line at 573-552-7189 to remain anonymous.

The sheriff said residents shouldn’t make contact with Mckie because he could be armed and dangerous.
