Moberly cleaning up after Thursday storms

Moberly residents are cleaning up after storms downed trees and power lines Thursday night.

About 1,500 Ameren Missouri customers were without power starting at about 9:30 p.m., but power was restored within about 30 minutes, an Ameren spokeswoman said Friday. Moberly Regional Medical Center was one of the buildings that lost power, but a staff member said the hospital’s generator kicked in. One resident reported golf-ball size hail.

Fallen trees and limbs were visible Friday around town.
