Fire crews battle hay bale blaze in Boone County
Boone County fire officials confirm they are working an active fire in the 2800 block of Highway 124.
ABC 17 News crews on scene said they saw several large hay bales on fire and Assistant Chief Gale Blomenkamp confirmed there were six burning.
He said it will take some time for the fire to burn itself out because there is no real way to put out the hay bales.
Fire officials are in the process of spreading the hay bales out and letting them burn.
No people or buildings are currently in danger of the blaze.
Blomenkamp said they don’t know what caused it yet.
