Fulton woman recovering after driver falls asleep at wheel

Renee Coffelt, 56, is recovering from moderate injuries after a single-car crash in Fulton.

Missouri State Highway Patrol traffic reports show Ricky Coffelt, 50, was driving eastbound on U.S. 54 nearly a mile west of Route H around 9:30 p.m. Friday when he fell asleep. The car then drove off the road and hit the median cables.

Emergency responders took Renne Coffelt to University Hospital.

According to the crash report, no one in the car was wearing a seat belt.
