Dry weekend with rain moving in next week

TODAY: We’ll see mostly sunny skies to kick off the weekend and as a result, temperatures will warm to near 90 this afternoon. Winds out of the northeast up to 10 mph will keep heat indices in check.

TONIGHT: Our mostly clear skies will continue into the overnight hours, cooling us off into the middle 60s. It will be a pleasant night to view the Perseid meteor shower.

EXTENDED: Sunday will be another typical day around Mid-Missouri for the middle of August. We’ll see plenty of sunshine into the afternoon hours as we reach near 90 once again. Monday looks like most of us will stay dry but we’re continuing to track storms into western Missouri, which could affect the HWY 65 portions of the viewing area. A better chance of seeing widespread rain moves in on Tuesday and we’ll be seeing periods of showers and t-storms sticking around through early Thursday. With the chances of rain, temperatures will stay in the middle to upper 80s. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest forecast and check back here for updates.
