Another fall-like day across Mid-MO, Summer returns by the end of the week
THIS AFTERNOON: We expect clouds to slowly begin to break up across Mid-Missouri this afternoon. The better chance for seeing sunshine will be across northwestern portions of the viewing area. Temperatures will rise slowly into the mid 70s later this evening as well. Any scattered shower activity sticks east of 63.
TONIGHT: By this evening we will see partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows drop back into the low 60s with more clouds returning. Winds will be light out of the north.
EXTENDED: The cooler weather can only last so long. We look to hold on to rain chances and below average temperatures through Tuesday, but aas we trek through the middle and end of the week we’re going to see the return of summer. Skies will become sunny with drying conditions as temperatures return to seasonal. By Thursday high temperatures make their way back into the upper 80s and close to 90 as we close out the work week. Thankfully the humidity doesn’t look quite as oppressive as what we’ve had in weeks past, but heat indices will return into the mid 90s with slightly humid conditions. After Tuesday, our next chance of storms doesn’t arrive until Saturday night with our next approaching system. Stay with ABC 17 News as we continue to monitor the ongoing drought situation and the return of the heat later in the week. You can also follow us on Twitter @ABC17Stormtrack.
