Unseasonably cool, but summer will make a comeback

MONDAY: This morning expect some patchy fog through the morning hours, so you made need to allow some extra time for the early morning commute. We will stay mostly dry for the commute, however it will be worth it to keep the umbrella handy as we’ll see on and off shower chances throughout the day. It will be another cool one, with temperatures holding the mid 70s. Places that see extended cloud cover and rain will hover in the upper 60s & low 70s.

TONIGHT: By this evening and throughout the night shower activity will become more scattered in nature, especially east of HWY 63. We could see an isolated thunderstorm, but nothing will be severe. Overnight lows drop back into the low 60s with cloudy skies. Winds will be light out of the north.

EXTENDED: The cooler weather can only last so long. We look to hold on to rain chances and below average temperatures through Tuesday, but has we trek through the middle and end of the week we’re going to see the return of summer. Skies will become sunny with drying conditions as temperatures return to seasonal. By Thursday high temperatures make their way back into the upper 80s and close to 90 as we close out the work week. Thankfully the humidity doesn’t look quite as oppressive as what we’ve had in weeks past, but heat indices will return into the mid 90s with slightly humid conditions. After Tuesday, our next chance of storms doesn’t arrive until Saturday night with our next approaching system. Stay with ABC 17 News as we continue to monitor the ongoing drought situation and the return of the heat later in the week. You can also follow us on Twitter @ABC17Stormtrack.
