UPDATE: Police confirm multiple shootings in downtown Columbia; one gunshot wound victim
UPDATE 8:13 P.M.: Police confirm that at around 1:30 a.m. shot were fired near the intersection of 10th and Broadway.
A male suffered a non life-threatening wound and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Officers were not able to identify a suspect or suspects in the crowd of people.
A short time later, officers responded to another shots heard on Williams and Ann, and found no one in the area and no property damage.
Police said it is unknown if the two incidences are related.
UPDATE 3:55 A.M.: Columbia Police are investigating several shootings in downtown Columbia early Sunday morning.
Broadway/Hitt Street Shooting
Police tell ABC 17 News around 2:15 a.m. they responded to a shooting near El Rancho.
One man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound. At this time, it’s unclear how severe the injuries are.
Williams/Walnut Shooting
Around 2:45 a.m. police responded to Williams Street and Walnut for shots fired.
When officers arrived they found shell casings in the area.

Police tell ABC 17 News no shooting suspects have been taken into custody. They are still speaking with witnesses but cooperation has been a challenge.
Police said only one person was taken into custody, unrelated to the shootings.
UPDATE 3:10 A.M.: Columbia Police have Williams Street and Walnut Street currently blocked off after reports of shots fired in the area.
Police are actively on scene looking in the area for evidence.
ABC 17 News is working to see if there is any connection between the two scenes.

ORIGINAL 2:49 A.M. : Columbia Police have multiple streets blocked off in downtown Columbia.
ABC 17 News has crews near Broadway and Hitt street where police are stationed, looking in the area with flashlights.
Several residents told ABC 17 News they heard multiple gunshots in the area after seeing a disturbance break out.
