Storms end with drier air moving in

TONIGHT: Lingering showers and storms are expected until 10 PM with the best chance south of I-70 and west of HWY 63. Any severe threat will dissipate after sunset, with temperatures bottoming out in the lower 70s through the night. Winds will be out of the southwest up to 9 mph.

FRIDAY: A cold front will move through and winds will shift from the west to the northwest at 8-15 mph. However, it will still be hot with high temperatures in the low 90s. Areas north of I-70 will have mostly sunny skies while areas farther south will see more afternoon clouds. Fortunately, the humidity will drop slightly and heat indices will only reach the mid to upper 90s.

EXTENDED: The upcoming weekend looks mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 and nights in the upper 60s. Dew points will stay in the mid 60s so it will only feel slightly humid as north to northwesterly winds make it feel more comfortable. As we head into next week, the pattern looks to remain fairly quiet and seasonal. Afternoon highs will top out near 90 everyday, with overnight lows in the upper 60s.
