Another hot, humid, and mostly dry week for Mid-Missouri

MONDAY: After what was a nice weekend across Mid-Missouri, the heat and humidity are slowly returning to the area. Afternoon highs will top out in the lower 90s today with the humidity making it feel even hotter, as heat indices top out in the upper 90s. We’ll see some isolated showers and storms into the afternoon which will provide some relief, but most locations will remain on the dry side.

TONIGHT: Another quiet, but warm night is in store for Mid-Missouri. Under mostly clear skies temperatures will dip into the low 70s by morning, with muggy conditions remaining.

EXTENDED: Tuesday could follow the same pattern as Monday, except a touch warmer. Spot showers look to blossom east of HWY 63, again nothing will be widespread. We’re watching the potential for a weak cold front to track through the area Wednesday. This will only knock the temperatures down a few degrees into the afternoon hours, but drier air won’t make it feel as hot as previous days. The frontal passage will not bring any rain as we remain dry for the most of the week. By the end of the week heat indices will be back to 100-105, with isolated storm chances increasing Friday afternoon.
