Seasonal day to end the weekend

TODAY: Another great summer day around Mid-Missouri on your Sunday. Temperatures will be slightly warmer than we saw yesterday, in the upper 80s. That drier air mass remains in place, so it won’t feel quite as oppressive as we have gotten used to this summer. Plenty of sunshine today so don’t forget that sunscreen!

TONIGHT: Our winds begin to blow out of a more southeasterly direction overnight, which will bring the return of humidity to Mid-Missouri. More moisture in the air means we don’t cool off quite as much, only down to the low 70s.

EXTENDED: That familiar heat and humidity makes the return just in time to start the work week. This upper level ridge will begin to take a more firm grip on the Midwest and our temperatures will slowly warm throughout the week. We’ll see lower 90s for highs on Monday with those overnight lows only cooling off into the low to mid 70s. Being under this ridge will also snuff out many chances for rain throughout the next 7 days, unfortunately. As we head into next weekend, temperatures will be topping out in the middle 90s in the afternoon. Check back with ABC 17 News for the latest forecast and updates throughout the week.
