Mid-Missouri Business Week: The Business Loop sees increase in sales

The Business Loop just finished up its second year of collecting sales taxes to go toward the Loop CID. Between April 2017 and March 2018, the Loop brought in nearly $66 million in sales, up 7 percent from the previous year’s numbers.

The executive director of the Loop CID, Carrie Gartner, said the increase means the community improvement district can now start upgrading the street.

“It shows that we’re going in the right direction. People are paying attention to the businesses,” Gartner said. “They are doing a lot better than previous years.”
