Squirrel hunting leaves man hospitalized with gunshot wound
A man is recovering from minor gunshot wounds at University Hospital after an accidental shooting while squirrel hunting.
Officials at Boone County Sheriff’s Department said two people were squirrel hunting Sunday morning when they were separated. Officials said one person was shot by a third person also hunting in the area.
Authorities say the bullets were small and similar in size to BBs for a BB gun.
The victim arrived at Boone Hospital shortly before 7 a.m. and was later transported to University Hospital in good condition.
