Heat & humidity return to Mid-Missouri this week

TUESDAY: It will be another comfortable, yet warm day across Mid-Missouri. Despite the low humidity, temperatures will still feel like summer as high stop out near 90 degrees. You’ll want to grab the sunglasses and sunscreen through the day, as full sunshine is expected today.

TONIGHT: A calm and clear night is ahead as low temperatures drop into the low to mid 60s by morning. Southerly winds up to 7 mph will begin the return to humid conditions by morning.

EXTENDED: We continue to stay dry through midweek, but we’re watching a series of disturbances developing along a growing ridge of high pressure over the central plains. With the growing ridge we are going to see a nice warm up we head through the middle of this week, reaching 90 degrees by Wednesday. We will see an unsettled weather pattern developing across Mid-Missouri as we begin to see increasing rain chances into the weekend, starting Wednesday night and into Thursday. There is a slight chance a cluster of storms could track into northwestern mid-Missouri by Wednesday night. These will mainly increase past 11 PM and end by the morning commute on Thursday. Thursday’s is a low chance of afternoon storms, as most of the rainfall skirts to the north, but the chance increases by Friday night and Saturday as a weak front wavers across the area. There is also a slight storm chance Sunday as high temperatures reach the upper 80s this weekend with heat indices as high as the mid 90s. We’ll continue to track any thunderstorm risks headed into that timeframe. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest forecast and check back here for updates.
