A Boone County prosecutor has charged Isaiah Vigliano in connection with an April 10 early morning shooting off the 8000 block of Interstate 70 Drive southeast.

Vigliano is charged with unlawful use of a weapon - discharge along a highway.

According to a probable cause statement, Boone County Sheriff's deputies investigating a report of shots fired located Vigliano and another man in the road looking for something on the ground while their vehicle was parked on the side of the road.

Deputies talked with Vigliano and the other man and they both gave differing accounts of being in the area, however, Vigliano did say he heard the gunshots.

Officials searching the area found three cases in the road and two cases in the vehicle. Investigators reported finding two guns in the vehicle including a Taurus G3 9mm handgun.

On April 19, a deputy test-fired one of the guns and sent it for ballistic evaluation and analysis in Iowa. On April 26, the specialist reported the test-fired cartridge matched a case round on April 10.

A firearms trace summary report identified Vigliano as buying the Taurus in September 2021.

Vigliano was arrested on Sunday with a bond set at $25,000 cash only on Tuesday. However, his bond was reduced to $5,000 cash or surety and he bonded out.

Vigliano has a confined docket hearing scheduled for June 15 and a case review on July 7.

Vigliano's defense attorney is listed as Andrew Popplewell from Eng and Woods law firm according to online court records.
